Corner

1. "Go sit in the corner!" That's what my folks'd say ..
when I did something bad .. that's how I'd have to pay!
So I'd sit there in the corner .. feeling foolish and forlorn ..
like I was the rottenest awfulest kinda kid that ever had been born.
Now .. a corner is the place where two walls come together.
You can back yourself into one .. one way or another.
But then a corner is for turning around a cornerstone.
And woncha meet me at the corner, Joan?
2. One day I was sitting in the corner .. feeling grouchy as a crab.
Suddenly I saw this little spider just spinning on her web.
She said, "Hi, there! Welcome to my corner! I'm glad that you came by!"
Then we had the nicest conversation! She even offered me a fly!!
Now .. a corner is the place where two friends come together!
You can find yourself a new one .. one way or another!
And a corner is for turning around a cornerstone.
And woncha meet me at the corner, Joan?
3. Now .. sometimes I go sit in the corner, even when they don't tell me to.
Cuz .. every time I go sit in the corner .. I notice something new!
...
...
Now .. a corner's just the place where two walls come together.
If you back yourself into one .. look and see what you discover!
And a corner is for turning around a cornerstone.
And woncha meet me at the corner, Joan?
