Gently sung.
Now, in the midnight, the Old Man goes quietly.
Look by your bedside, and you will find
bright colored ribbons and feathers of ebony.
These are the treasures he leaves behind.
For all things given, and so, for all things broken,
ribbons to garland, and ribbons to mend.
And, from the black bird, a feathery token, soon,
to the Alderwood, she will fly again!
