1. In the beginning . . there was a tree . .
a tall tree . . straight as a dart.
It grew upon the deep deep sea . .
rooted in the white whales' heart (REPT. LAST LINES)
2. And from it's branches hung the stars . .
And ripe as fruit . . the moon and sun.
And Pegasus did nestle there . .
with Rigel and Aldeberan.
3. The lightning came and struck the tree.
It left the greater part to stand . .
but branch and stars fell on the sea . .
And that that fell . . it became the land.
4. And one star . . it became the Whale . .
and one became the Hawk so wild . .
And one star . . it became the Stone . .
And one star . . it became the Child . .
5. And the Child grew all with the Stone . .
and the Stone it grew to meet the Hawk.
And the Hawk it flew across the sea
to seek the Whale . . all white as chalk.
6. And in the whale, there beat a heart.
And in the heart there lived a seed.
And from the seed there sprung a tree . . .
and it grew upon the deep deep sea.
