CHORUS: I'm fixin' up my pogo stick - ridin' on a rickshaw ..
trike, bike, unicycle .. row the boat ashore, Michael ..
trek to Tucomcari on a dromedary, humpin' blooey to St. Louis ..
scooters ain't polluters .. goin' to San Antoine on a rollin' stone.
I'm perambulatin' .. roller skatin' --- It's funny ..
but I'd sooner stay home honey ..
than to pay Exxon blood money at the pump.
1. All that oily slick ain't just on the water ..
when them Exxon executives say .. "We oughta'
be ashamed for the terrible oil slick in Valdez!"
They say they're sorry and they roll their eyes ..
then they raise their prices up to the skies ..
and it's you & me, babe .. that pays the clean-up fees!
(BREATHE)
So .. CHO.
2. Now .. summer is comin' in .. and Exxon expects us
to pay .. 'cause them Winnebagos have a tank the size of Texas ..
and them Toto mowers'll clip 'em right out of the red.
Well .. before she swap the Channel, Florence Chadwick greased
her limbs .. we could take them Exxon folks for a swim ..
and I wonder how they'd like it with the water
greased instead .. ?
(BREATHE)
CHO.
3. Gonna buy my gas in a demitasse.
Just a dribble from the hose. Gonna make it last
at least, 'til Exxon pays .. and through the nose.
Now .. heaven is a real nice spot ..
they got Fred Astaire and it ain't too hot ..
but I hear they've had to close the River Styx ..
all because of another Exxon oil slick ..
(and that stuff'll kill ya!)
(BREATHE)
CHO.
4. Now .. if I had caused so many tears ..
they'd throw me in jail for a thousand years ..
and on top of that .. I'd have to pay a fine!
But, them Exxon folks got all the luck! They say ..
"we're sorry" then they pass the buck ..
but the bad thing is ..
the buck they're passing is MINE!
(BREATHE)
CHO.
